Description: The Grand Opening Celebration for the Fort Peck Dam Interpretive Center and Museum will be held on May 7, 2005. This will be the public's first chance to see the new exhibits that will be installed in April. There will be displays on Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek Formation, including the Tyrannosaurus Rex known as Pecks Rex. Addtional displays include wildlife dioramas on present day and historical animals of the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge and two large aquariums showcasing the fish of Fort Peck Lake and the Missouri River. Other displays will interpret the Construction History of Fort Peck Dam and boomtown life.

Speakers will discuss a variety of topics, including wildlife, paleotology, and others. Dignitaries from the US Army Corps of Engineers, US Fish & Wildlife Service as well as National and state senators and congressmen who helped make the Center a reality will be on hand.
