Description: Beginning June 4, National Trails Day, the public can join an interpretive specialist on North Shore .Trails and hike along side a beautiful two mile portion of the Missouri River. As we retrace Captain Lewis's footsteps, the public will experience what Captain Lewis saw as we will interpret native plants, wildlife and Lewis & Clark history.

We will meet at Ryan Dam Trailhead, which is located on the left hand side of the County Road just before you turn to see Ryan Dam and The Great Falls. Dress appropriately for the weather and hike and bring your own water. If the weather does not cooperate we will cancel the hike.

Directions: North Shore Interpretive Hikes will start at Ryan Dam Trailhead. Take Highway 87 North from Great Falls approximately 3 miles until you see a brown sign with Ryan Dam and Morony Dam highlighted on it. Take a right onto the County Road after the brown sign. When you get to the fork in the road, take another right and follow the road about a 1/2 mile. Before you make the turn to Ryan Dam, on your left hand side of the County Road you will find the Ryan Dam Trailhead.
