Description: The Don't Fence Me In Trail Run and Walk is no ordinary race. You will have the opportunity to run or walk on a unique course that incorporates some of the best trails in the Helena area. Not only is the course fun, it's also beautiful. You'll be able to catch great views, see some spectacular country and hopefully get a glimpse of early spring flowers. Even better, you'll be supporting a worthy cause. The Prickly Pear Land Trust, sponsor of the race, has taken the lead in conserving open space in the Helena area for over 8 years, Some of the course trails are on lands that the Prickly Pear Land Trust has assisted in purchasing and securing for public open space. All race activities will begin and end at Pioneer Heritage Park in Downtown Helena. The park is at the south end of the Downtown Walking Mall, next to the Lewis & Clark County Library. Both the run and the walk wind through meadowed and forested trails of the South Hills of Helena. This year, Prickly Pear Land Trust will be featuring activities for the entire family including supervised children's activities at the park during the run or walk, outdoor recreation vendor exhibits, food concessions and an award's ceremony. There will be prizes awarded to top pledge gatherers, in addition to race winners of various age categories.
