Description: On weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas, historic Virginia City comes alive with holiday decorations, shopping, and special events. The 6th Annual Christmas Socials and Market will begin the Friday after Thanksgiving November 26, 2004 and run through December 19, 2004. On Saturday November 27, there will be a tree lighting ceremony on the main street with a visit from Santa and impromptu caroling. Each weekend will feature musical events, historical reenactment presentations, and fabulous feasts. Each Sunday a Champagne Brunch will be held at the Bennett House Country Inn, which will include a historical talk by John Ellingsen. One of the weekends will feature an old-time country dance. And remember, many of our shops will be open for your holiday shopping. The musical events will take place at the Elks Lodge and the Roadmaster Grille here on Main Street and at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Idaho Street. Please call Jack Waller at 406-843-5359 for additional information.
Directions: The 6th Annual Christmas Socials and Market will be held at a variety of venues around Virginia City, such as on Main Street (Highway 287), at the Roadmaster Grille, Elks Lodge, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, The Bennett House Country Inn Bed and Breakfast and Stonehouse Inn.
