Description: Are you interested in Montana history' Well, mark your calendars for the weekend of August 20th and 21st, 2005. Come to Virginia City, Montana. Learn about the role the Civil War had in Montana's early history. Join us at the 'Grand Ball of 1864' and see Victorian fashions and customs. You are encouraged to dress in 1860-1880s period costumes, but it is not a requirement. A light dinner will be served. Classes on customs and the dances will be provided the afternoon of the Ball. Step back in time Saturday and Sunday as you walk the boardwalks of Virginia City. Enjoy watching various artists demonstrate talents significant to our cultural heritage, such as saddle making, blacksmithing, weaving, quilting and so much more. Heritage Days Weekend is free admission. Victorian Ball admission is $25 per person, $40 per couple in advance and $30 per person, $50 per couple at the door.
Directions: The Victorian Ball will be held in the Community Center (also known as the gym) from 7:00pm to 12:00am and Heritage Days will be celebrated at various locations, downtown Virginia City throughout the weekend.
